Friending list goes up, and so do the infopost! So it has always been, and so it shall ever be!
Of course, this time around, my newest addition to my flock of seagulls is incredibly straight-forward, so there isn't too much to say that wouldn't be more fun revealed through interacting with her, so this is now just an excuse for me to babble about her and post adorable comics and gifs from Azumanga Daioh.
In a nutshell, Yukari Tanizaki is a 27-year old Japanese English teacher from an unnamed school in Tokyo, who serves as the homeroom teacher of the main protagonists of this adorable, wholesome, surreal and slightly absurdist 2000s anime and manga from Kiyohiko Azuma. Right out the gate, we know Yukari is a very unconventional teacher, as her students refer to her as Yukari-sensei, rather than the more proper Tanizaki-sensei, which is a reflection of herunprofessional casual approach to teaching.

This approach sometimes involves pop quizzes based entirely on her mood and occasionally throwing things at the students; it also included encouraging them to always pursue what makes them happy and sometimes sincere attempts to sway them away from terrible decisions. Which is ironic, because she herself is an expert at terrible decisions, but maybe that's just why she's so good at teaching others about them!

Yukari is 158 cm tall (5'2"), with long wavy brown hair that reaches just about to her waist, with a style that could probably be referred to as "comfortable." Her English is very good, although it's very much a second language, so she'll speak with a little bit of an accent (one that's hard to discern exactly how strong it is, because when they have her speaking in English in the show, she and the people she's talking to literally just say 'Blah blah blah!' with different intonations, and it's hilarious, actually). She absolutely love to eat, drink, party, and play video games (my favorite fanon for her involves her moonlighting as a twitch streamer, which may or may not get stolen). Up until now, she has been living with either her parents or crashing unceremoniously at her "best friend" (*ahem*)'s place. She is a terrible driving. She is terrible with money. She is quick to anger and jealousy and taking those both out on other people, as well as shrugging off responsibility and blaming other people for her and the entire world's problems. She's a little unhinged, but she's VERY passionate and weirdly confident in ways that maybe she shouldn't be.

Actual Footage of Yukari driving
In short, she is a disaster little gremlin human somehow put in charge of teenagers, and I absolutely adore everything about her.

There's plenty more to get into with Yukari, but, for now, I'll just let a few choice comics do the talking for me (remember, they're translations from Japanese, so they read right to left!):

As always, any questions, comments, concerns, gif parties, etc, etc, etc, are always welcome!
